Description
This Dendritic Opal and Pearl Pendant captures the soft light of a full moon. I shaped and melted Argentium silver until the surface formed a true lunar texture, full of subtle depth and movement. The curved bar and rounded form balance the design, while the gemstone and pearl add harmony and calm.
Design & Feel
The freeform dendritic opal is set in a smooth bezel that rests within the silver moon. Its branching inclusions look like distant clouds or trees seen through moonlight. A single soft grey Tahitian pearl completes the piece, adding a gentle glow that pairs beautifully with the cool tone of the silver.
Argentium Heat & Finish
The pendant is heat-treated to form the germanium oxide layer that hardens Argentium silver and slows tarnish. Afterward, I polish the high points and leave the natural texture untouched, creating contrast and dimension.
