Design & Feel
Each Buttonhole ring is handmade in Argentium 940 silver. I form the open channel shape to hold the gemstone between the silver walls, creating balance and stability. The wide front supports the stone, while the tapered back allows for a smooth and comfortable fit. The clean lines and polished edges reflect light simply and clearly.
About the Black Star Diopside
The gemstone is a 6 carat oval cabochon Black Star Diopside, known for its distinct star reflection across the surface. Sometimes called the black version of a Star Sapphire, it shows a clear four-rayed star under direct light. The stone is bezel set within the buttonhole opening, keeping the design both secure and bold.

I start with solid Argentium sheet and shape the open channel of the Buttonhole design. After refining the edges and forming the smooth taper, I set the gemstone into the opening where light can reveal its star pattern. The result is a modern, architectural piece that balances simplicity and strength.
