Kyanite Earrings – Argentium Silver Sun and Moon
These Kyanite Earrings – Argentium Silver Sun and Moon feature a hollow silver sun circling a rectangular kyanite gemstone. I form the open sun in Argentium silver first. Then I set the kyanite in a brass bezel to frame the stone with warm contrast.
Above the sun and stone sits a solid silver moon. The hollow circle represents the sun. Meanwhile, the solid circle forms the moon. As a result, the design balances openness and grounding. The deep blue kyanite adds vertical strength within the circular motion. Handmade, nickel-free Argentium silver earwires complete the structure.
The mixed metals create contrast between cool silver and warm brass. However, the form remains clean and architectural.

I form the hollow sun first. Then I create the brass bezel and set the kyanite. Finally, I solder the solid moon and assemble the layered components before polishing.
