Rune Pendant – Algiz – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – Antique
This pendant features the Algiz rune, formed in solid Argentium Silver 940. Algiz is part of the Elder Futhark writing system. It is often linked to the origin of the letters “X” or “Z.” The meaning of Algiz is protection and life. Therefore, the symbol carries strength and grounding.
I begin by melting the silver into a rounded form that resembles a historical wax seal. While the metal is still hot, I shape the surface with a jeweller’s pick. Then I fuse square wire to form the rune symbol. After preparing both parts, I solder the rune onto the wax seal base and gently dome the piece. Finally, I refine the surface and deepen the antique contrast.
An 18″ Sterling Silver bead chain with a matching antique finish is included.
Design & Feel
The wax seal form gives the pendant a historic presence. Meanwhile, the raised rune adds structure and symbolism. This contrast balances texture and meaning. Because the high points are polished, the symbol stands out clearly against the darkened background.
This pendant comes with an 18″ Sterling Silver bead chain with an antique finish.
Materials & Care
This pendant is made in Argentium Silver 940. Argentium silver is brighter and harder than traditional sterling. In addition, it is nickel-free and slower to tarnish.
The antique finish is permanent and never needs polishing.
