This Amethyst Pendant features a natural 18-carat teardrop gemstone framed in the Rapids Circle design. The form captures the flow and energy of moving water. I melt solid Argentium silver, shaping it with heat and motion until the surface ripples like a fast current. The Amethyst sits balanced in a smooth bezel that contrasts with the textured silver.
Design & Feel
The circular Rapids design gives this pendant a sense of rhythm and strength. The Amethyst’s deep violet tone glows against the bright silver, creating a balanced and calm composition. The silver bar and tube form provide extra structure and hold the chain securely through the pendant, giving it an easy, even weight when worn.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I heat-treat the silver to activate the germanium oxide layer that defines Argentium 940. This step strengthens the surface and slows tarnish. After the heat work, I polish the raised areas to catch the light and leave soft texture in the valleys for contrast.
