Bark Pendant – Argentium Silver with Branches
Description
This Bark Pendant with Branches begins as a solid sheet of Argentium silver. I layer strips and small pieces of silver on top, then fuse them together to build a thick bark-like texture. After some hammering and reshaping, I add more fused layers until the surface feels natural and organic.
Design & Feel
The pendant has a raised silver branch running across the top, adding contrast and structure to the layered bark texture. It feels both strong and fluid — a balance of natural form and crafted detail. The long, narrow shape gives it a bold and elegant profile.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I heat-treat the pendant to create the protective germanium oxide layer that defines Argentium 940. This process strengthens the silver and slows tarnish. I then polish the high points and leave the deeper areas softly matte, giving dimension and subtle shine.
