Black Line Agate Pendant – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – Antique Finish
Description
Each Black Line Agate Pendant is handmade from solid Argentium silver. I heat the silver until it softens, then move it with a jeweller’s pick to form the texture of a traditional wax seal. Once the surface cools, I refine the shape and smooth the edges before adding the stone.
Design & Feel
For this pendant, I chose an oval, cabochon-cut Black Line Agate. Its natural banding creates contrast against the antique silver. I handcraft the bezel to fit the gemstone, solder it to the pendant base, and add a solid bail for strength. After polishing and shaping, I apply a permanent antique patina that highlights every detail. The dark stone and aged silver give the pendant a grounded, timeless feel.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I heat-treat the silver to activate the germanium oxide layer that defines Argentium 940. This process strengthens the surface and improves tarnish resistance. The antique finish is permanent and never needs polishing — just a light wipe with a soft cloth when needed.
