Chain Maille Link Necklace – Argentium Silver
Description
This Chain Maille Link Necklace is both simple and versatile. I’ve woven solid Argentium silver jump rings into an open chain that can be clasped anywhere along its length. The flexible design makes it easy to wear short at 16″ or 18″, or full length at 20″.
Design & Feel
The necklace combines two jump ring sizes — 18-5 and 18-3 — to give the links rhythm and variation. The result is a light but durable chain that feels smooth against the skin. Its open design makes it easy to pair with pendants or wear on its own as a statement chain.
Argentium Heat & Finish
After weaving, I heat-treat the chain to form the germanium oxide layer that strengthens Argentium 940. This step helps prevent tarnish and adds surface hardness. I then polish the chain to enhance its bright, white tone and crisp detail.
