Description
This Chrysocolla Druzy Pendant features a freeform cabochon, mined in Chile. The gemstone has been cut into an irregular triangle that highlights its natural druzy surface. Its deep aqua tones shimmer with subtle crystal texture, creating a vivid contrast to the polished silver beneath.
Design & Feel
The pendant belongs to the Rapids design group — inspired by flowing, turbulent water. I melt and shape solid Argentium silver while it is still molten, guiding it into a dynamic, liquid form. The silver’s motion enhances the rough texture of the druzy, giving the pendant a natural rhythm and organic balance.
Argentium Heat & Finish
Once the design takes shape, I heat-treat the pendant to form the protective germanium oxide layer unique to Argentium 940. This step hardens the surface and helps it resist tarnish. Finally, I polish the raised areas while leaving the deeper textures soft and matte, adding visual depth and dimension.
