Copper Moon Earrings – Post – Large
I hand cut and etch these larger solid copper moons from sheet. Then I gently dome the surface to create lift and light reflection. I solder an Argentium silver post to the top so the moon sits with a subtle drop below the lobe. The butterfly backing is also Argentium silver.
The etched surface adds texture and direction. Meanwhile, the domed form softens the circle and enhances reflected light. The scale is compact yet bold, and the movement remains minimal and controlled.
All of my copper pieces begin with solid copper sheet or wire. Copper is a pure metal — 100% copper. Because there are no alloys, solid copper is always nickel-free and suitable for sensitive ears.
The shiny copper finish is uncoated and will naturally tarnish over time. If a bright finish is preferred, use a polishing cloth or fresh lime to restore the shine. Antique copper is permanently antiqued and does not require polishing. Patina copper is sealed to preserve colour and should not be cleaned.
