Copper Patina Earrings – Hollow Round
I cut each round from solid copper sheet. Then I add a centre cut-out to create lightness and detail. After that, I gently cup the form to give it lift and dimension.
Next, I apply a blue patina by hand. Because patina develops naturally, each pair will vary slightly in tone and pattern. Once the colour reaches the right depth, I seal the surface with lacquer to preserve the finish.
The open centre reduces weight. Meanwhile, the cupped surface enhances light and shadow. As a result, the earrings feel balanced and sculptural.
Shiny copper is not coated and will naturally tarnish over time. If you prefer a bright finish, use a polishing cloth or fresh lime to restore the shine. However, patinated copper is sealed and should not be cleaned.
