Larimar Pendant – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – Antique Finish
Description
Each Larimar Pendant is handmade using solid Argentium silver. I melt the silver until it softens, then move it with a jeweller’s pick to form the texture of a traditional wax seal. Once the base cools, I smooth the edges and prepare the surface for the gemstone.
Design & Feel
For this pendant, I selected a hexagon-shaped Larimar to complement the molten texture. The bezel is made by hand, fitted precisely around the stone, and soldered to the pendant base. I then add the bail and polish the surface before applying the antique patina. The soft blue of the Larimar stands out beautifully against the darkened silver.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I heat-treat the pendant to activate the germanium oxide layer that defines Argentium silver. This process strengthens the surface and slows tarnish. The antique finish is permanent and never needs polishing — a soft cloth is all that’s required for care.
