Description
This pendant features a large London blue topaz set into a lunar moon form in Argentium silver. The gemstone weighs 32 carats and shows a full checkerboard cut across its surface. I bezel set the stone and seat it securely within the lunar form. As a result, light moves freely through the deep blue colour.
Design & Feel
The lunar moon shape softens the scale of the gemstone and creates a calm, expansive presence. At the same time, the checkerboard cut adds movement and sparkle as light shifts. Because of this balance, the pendant feels bold yet composed. It hangs steadily and reads as a strong focal piece.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I make this pendant in Argentium silver and heat-treat the piece to activate the germanium oxide layer. This step increases hardness and improves tarnish resistance. After heat treatment, I set the gemstone and polish the surface to a clean, bright finish.
About the Stone
London blue topaz is valued for its rich, saturated blue tone. The checkerboard cut reflects light from many angles. Therefore, the stone shows depth, clarity, and constant visual movement.
