Onyx Bark Pendant – Argentium Silver – Long Marquise
Description
This Onyx bark pendant features a marquise-cut black onyx set into a long strip of solid Argentium silver. I fuse the silver to build a bark-like surface, allowing natural texture and depth to develop through heat and pressure. I then tuck the onyx into the silver so the stone sits securely within the bark form.
Design & Feel
The LIFE design group focuses on organic structure and growth. In this piece, the rough bark texture contrasts with the smooth, deep black surface of the onyx. The long vertical form gives the pendant strength and presence, while the natural texture keeps it grounded. As a result, the pendant feels bold, solid, and quietly powerful.
Argentium Heat & Finish
After forming the bark texture, I heat-treat the pendant to activate the germanium oxide layer in Argentium silver. This process increases hardness and slows tarnish. I then refine the surface so the bark detail remains strong and tactile, while the silver stays clean and stable over time.

Materials & Care
This pendant is made in Argentium Silver 940. Argentium silver is brighter and harder than traditional sterling. In addition, it is nickel-free and slower to tarnish.
