Pearl Pendant – Argentium Silver – Rapids Design
Description
This Pearl pendant features a polished pearl set in a smooth bezel and framed by the rugged surface of the Rapids design. I build the silver form by melting and fusing small pieces of Argentium silver together. As the metal flows and joins, the surface develops movement and texture that reflects fast-moving water.
Design & Feel
The WATER design group centres on motion and transformation. In this piece, the soft glow of the pearl contrasts with the energetic texture of the silver. The bezel setting keeps the pearl calm and centred, while the surrounding Rapids surface adds strength and movement. As a result, the pendant feels balanced, expressive, and alive.
Argentium Heat & Finish
After forming the Rapids texture, I heat-treat the pendant to activate the germanium oxide layer in Argentium silver. This step increases hardness and slows tarnish. I then refine the surface so the texture remains bold while the silver stays clean and durable over time.

Materials & Care
This pendant is made in Argentium Silver 940. Argentium silver is brighter and harder than traditional sterling. In addition, it is nickel-free and slower to tarnish.
