Sapphire Pendant – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – Antique
Description
Each melted boulder – also called a “wax seal” – is handmade from Argentium silver. I melt the metal until it is soft but not fluid, then guide it with a jeweller’s pick to form a natural, molten shape. This creates the flowing texture that defines each pendant.
Design & Feel
The surface feels ancient yet refined. The antique patina settles into the low areas and highlights the raised edges. Because of this, light and shadow shift across the silver, giving the pendant depth and quiet strength. Every wax-seal form is one of a kind.
Argentium Heat & Finish
Because this pendant is made with Argentium silver, I heat-treat it to activate the germanium oxide layer. This process strengthens the silver and slows tarnish. After the heat work, I apply a permanent antique finish that never needs polishing.
About the Stone
This pendant features a natural freeform Sapphire chosen for its deep tone and organic shape. The gem has rich blue and green flashes that shift with movement. I hand-make and solder the bezel to fit the stone precisely. After refining and polishing, I attach the bail and seal the finish.
