Sun and Moon Pendant – Argentium Silver
I form this lunar pendant from solid Argentium Silver 940. First, I melt the silver and manipulate the liquid surface. As it cools, the texture begins to resemble the surface of the moon. Then I create a textured sun to circle the lunar form.
The contrast between the molten moon and structured sun creates depth. As a result, the surface reflects light differently across each element. Moreover, the circular framing gives the design balance and movement.

Materials & Care
This pendant is made in Argentium Silver 940. Argentium silver is brighter and harder than traditional sterling. In addition, it is nickel-free and slower to tarnish.

I melt the silver to form the lunar surface texture. Then I shape and refine the sun element separately. After that, I solder and assemble the components. Finally, I heat-treat the piece to increase strength and improve tarnish resistance.
