Tourmaline Pendant – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – Antique
Description
Each melted boulder – also called a “wax seal” – is handmade from Argentium silver. I melt the metal until it is soft but not fluid, then guide it with a jeweller’s pick to form an ancient-seal texture. Every pendant forms differently, giving each one its own natural balance.
Design & Feel
The design feels strong and grounded. Raised edges catch the light while deeper textures stay dark. The antique patina settles into the surface, adding depth and quiet character. As a result, the pendant appears bold yet calm.
Argentium Heat & Finish
Because this pendant is made with Argentium silver, I heat-treat it to activate the germanium oxide layer. This process strengthens the silver and slows tarnish. After the heat work, I apply a permanent antique finish that highlights texture and never needs polishing.
About the Stone
This pink Tourmaline weighs 2.5 carats and has a wide teardrop checkerboard cut. I choose each stone to complement the silver form. The bezel is handmade, soldered to the base, and polished smooth. The gem shifts between rose and deep blush tones as light moves across it.
