Turquoise Pendant – Sun and Moon – Argentium Silver
Description
I melt Argentium silver and guide the molten surface with a jeweller’s pick until the texture looks like the surface of the Moon. Each crater and ridge forms naturally as the metal moves. Once the lunar texture is complete, I shape the outer circle to represent the Sun, bringing the two elements together in one design.
Design & Feel
This pendant unites opposites — the calm reflection of the Moon and the energy of the Sun. The smooth outer ring surrounds the textured inner panel, giving balance and contrast. Because the piece is solid and well-weighted, it feels steady and comfortable to wear.
Argentium Heat & Finish
I heat-treat every pendant to activate the germanium oxide layer within the Argentium silver. This treatment strengthens the metal and slows tarnish. After the heat work, I give the surface a soft antique finish that deepens the texture and highlights the contrast between moon and sun.
About the Stone
A natural, freeform Turquoise cabochon rests between the lunar surface and the sun’s circle. The bezel is hand-fitted and permanently soldered to secure the stone. The gem’s soft sky-blue tone stands out against the silver and connects the design to earth and sky.
