Whisky Quartz Pendant – Argentium Silver Wax Seal – 18.5 Carat
This pale version of Smoky Quartz is known as Whisky Quartz because of its rich golden tone. The gemstone is marquise cut and weighs 18.5 carats. First, I melt the edges of a sheet of Argentium Silver 940. Then I add molten silver to build up the boulder-style wax seal form. After shaping the base, I cut an opening beneath the stone. Finally, I add prongs to secure the Quartz in place.
Because the back is open, light reaches the gemstone from multiple angles. Therefore, the stone shows greater brilliance. Meanwhile, the irregular wax seal edge adds weight and presence. Although the form feels organic, the prong setting keeps the composition secure and balanced.
Design & Feel
This pendant feels grounded and warm. The golden Quartz contrasts with the bright silver. At the same time, the melted edge creates natural movement. Because of the open back, the stone remains luminous. It reflects the steady energy of the LAND collection.

I melt and build the wax seal edges by hand. Then I fabricate and solder the prongs carefully to the base. After setting the gemstone, I refine and polish the surface to achieve a clean, bright finish.
